Important Notice: Embassy Closures and restricted access during the NATO Summit in the Netherlands.
Due to the NATO Summit taking place in the Netherlands from 24–25 June 2025, embassies in The Netherlands will be closed or have restricted access as a result of extensive security measures.
As a precaution, embassies across the country may be closed from Monday, 23 June to Friday, 27 June.

Start-up:

You want to apply for a residence permit as a starter. With this residence permit you have 1 year to start an innovative company in the Netherlands.

Applying for admission and residence in the Netherlands as a 'start-up' working as a self-employed person. You can only use this form if you are a foreign national living outside the Netherlands. VSD immigration delivers the application to the Dutch embassy or consulate in the country of origin or the country of continuous residence.

 

Requirements for companions,

The RVO maintains a list of supervisors who meet these requirements.

  • The supervisor has experience in supervising innovative start-ups.
  • The supervisor is financially sound.
  • The facilitator has not been granted a moratorium or liquidation and has no negative equity.
  • The facilitator does not have a majority interest in the start-up company.
  • The supervisor is not your child, parent, grandparent, uncle or aunt (family up to and including the third degree).
  • The supervisor has a deputy within the organisation.
