Singapore has a rich history that reaches back millennia, but Modern Singapore was founded in 1819 by Sir Stamford Raffles as a trading post of the British Empire.  For 3 years during World War 2, Singapore was ruled by the Japanese but returned to British control in 1945 and finally gained its independence 1965.

It is now the 5th most visited country in the world and the 2nd most visited in Asia-Pacific.  It boasts pristine beaches, exciting attractions and tropical landscapes, coupled with a super-stylish and modern city offering world class cuisine, hotels and shopping.

Singapore really has something for everyone and its easy to see why this city-state appears on the bucket list of most people in the world.
