Backpacking through New Zealand
New Zealand is a very popular backpacker destination and it's easy to see why. The 2 islands have some of the most breathtaking scenery to be found, with epic mountains, multiple glaciers, waterfalls, natural springs and of course the locations used in the filming of the Lord of the Rings films. On top of this there are also tons of exciting activities to experience such as diving, whale watching, white water rafting, bungy jumping, canyon swinging, skiing, hiking and sky diving!
It is also home to some of the nicest people you will meet anywhere and is very easy to travel around, with multiple bus tours, airports and a national bus system. There are plenty of high quality hostels and hotels for backpackers and camp sites for the more adventurous.
