Cruising Alaska and the Inside Passage
Alaska is one of the most beautiful places in the world and largely untouched by civilisation. Sometimes called the last frontier, Alaska has a large number of national parks, snow capped mountains, lush forests, fjords and calving glaciers which draw large numbers of tourists each summer.
The most popular route for Cruise Ships is through the inside passage, embarking mostly from either Seattle or Vancouver in British Columbia, Canada. This passage was carved by glaciers in the distant past and has some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. As well as the possibility of seeing the Northern Lights, there is an abundance of wildlife to see in Alaska. From Humpback Whales feeding and breaching to Orcas and Dolphins swimming next to your ship, wild bears, eagles and if you’re lucky, a moose or two.
Cruising in Alaska for European travellers will require a visa or ESTA for the USA and also possibly an e-visa for Canada, depending on where you join and leave the ship.
When planning your Cruise don't forget the following:
- Check your itinerary to see all of the countries that you will visit
