Apostille convention
What is the Apostille Convention?
The Apostille Convention was created on October 5, 1961 to simplify the legalisation process of documents for any country that is part of this Convention.
The apostille process is a shortened and simplified legalisation procedure that replaces the longer and more complicated legalisation route up to an Embassy.
If you have a document that will be used between two countries which are both part of the apostille convention, it is sufficient to have an apostille placed on the document and you do not have to have the document legalised up to the Embassy.
Documents with an apostille can be used in all of the countries that are members of the Apostille Convention.
